Recession is the father of invention. That is why a copywriter honestly bared his chest before the online world and another one made a documentary. This is because of recession that British airways come across a new idea to make some quick bucks. The New York Times Company has also discovered a new way to make some money- sell wine.
The company is all set to start a new venture called The New York Times Wine Club, which will offer members a selection of wines at two price levels, $90 or $180 per six-bottle shipment.
Oh, this is indeed a novel, addictive way to get close to the readers, sorry, customers. Forget the idea of reading your morning paper, with a sip of hot coffee. The new motto is âread, drink and grow.
We can hope that other newspapers will follow suite and fill their pages with wine reviews.
