Apple 1984 60-second commercial has now become a part of folklore. Advertising Age calls it, "the most powerful TV advertisement of the 1980s." And it seems the appreciation is never ending.

Anyway, today I hit upon a page, quite accidentally though (I mean that's the fun of Internet, isn't it), or shouldn't I call this a simple page, its kind of a reservoir, of old priceless Apple ads.

Look at young and uncomplicated Bill Gates in this Macintosh ad. Old is gold. Isn't it guys?

Apple the archetypal emotional brand is simply loved by its loyal customers (barring some bloggers off course) and some feel it's the power of sheer branding which keeps it alive (believe me, products are irrelevant) in the changing times. It's the absolute value which is the key to its survival.

And it was all started by former Pepsi man, John Sculley, who like a crazy genius marketed Apple in the mid 1980s and taken away the advertising budget of the firm, from a modest $15 million to $100 million. And made it the brand of the century. Overstating? You decide.
