Arthur Schiff, who actually provided to TV commercials a new voice died of lung cancer on 24th August. His career spanning glorious 30 years, Schiff has created no less than 1,800 'long term' or 'direct response' TV commercials. He is the single person who took Ginsu knife to a height of popularity single handedly and he attributed his best-known commercial to Ginsu itself.
He was being considered the unseen king of the infomercial, the brain behind the famopus Steakhouse Onion Machine, Ambervision Sunglasses and the Shiwala car mop.
In his initial days, Schiff was a copywriter for Providence, R.I., ad agency where he met Edward Valenti and this spared off his endless journey to the world TV advertisements.
