ASA raises its voice against the Sherlock Holmes ads

ASA is watching, and hearing too.

News is that eight adverts shown during an episode of Sherlock Holmes were ruled as too loud by the advertising watchdog. The adverts were shown on digital channel ITV3.

ASA observed so following complaints that the commercial breaks during the repeat of the 1984 series starring Jeremy Brett were 'excessively noisy compared to the surrounding programme'.

Earlier, ITV had said that the commercials merely coincided with particularly quiet parts of the programme.
