The third quarter financial report of CBS Corp., US television network company, suggest that that ad sales for television companies is being hijacked by other medium of advertising. Despite the company has recorded a 26 percent rise in profit from TV and outdoor advertising, the overall advertisement sales fell by three percent. However, there is a sharp rise in outdoor advertising revenue as the company's this quarter outdoor revenue rose considerably.

The recent development is clearly signaling spelling out that television advertising at present struggling to compete with online advertising. According to reports CBS is exploring opportunities for online advertising as it is trying to monetize some of their properties online.
