Continuing its 50's 'General Electric Theater' tradition, General Electronics Electric (GE) and BBDO once again hopes to achieve success with 'One-Second Theater' ad campaign for GE. This multimillion-dollar campaign was launched yesterday to which David Lubars, chairman of BBDO says,
We're harkening back to an old idea, in combination with new technology.The ad campaign features 'commercial within a commercial', which are ads with embedded material that only shows up frame by frame on DVRs, podcasts purporting to be from the animals featured in the ads, a microsite for the campaign and the imaginary biography on MySpace of Elli -- a dancing elephant that stars in some of the commercials.
