Even though the Olympics are quite the flavor of the season, Canon is already getting ready to sync the advertising for their limited edition diamond-studded Canon PowerShot Elph cameras with the U.S. Open. Created by bling specialist Amosu, the collection features cameras in five colors with each of them sporting 88 white diamonds totaling 2.22 carats in weight which pushes the value of the cameras to around $12,000 each! The photography giants have roped in tennis star Maria Sharapova and her dog Dolce to promote the collection in an upcoming TV spot which will depict fans approaching the star for photos not of her but of her pooch! The cameras will be revealed during an invitation-only New York event at ‘Canon Center Court’ coming August 20 and we will surely bring you the update on that as well!

This is the perfect way to market a new product. I mean endorsing a diamond studded camera with a tennis star like Maria Sharapova is an amazing idea.
