’Smoking' billboard

Joby JSep 21 2010

Yes, literally. We see many inventive methods of grabbing attention of the people through the intelligent, creative, or sometimes, crazy ways of outdoor promotion. This billboard for Avera Health to draw the attention of people to the need of having a health plan succeeded its aim. It suddenly grabbed the attention of the people, but in a dangerously excessive way, and it soon grabbed the attention of The Sioux Falls fire department too.

The billboard, which aimed to promote WhyImAlive.com. showed a woman sitting on a gurney in front of a terrible car crash, with actual smoke emanating from the background. It grabbed too much attention from the people, especially from drivers, and The Sioux Falls fire department is reportedly have a tough time answering to the phone calls regarding this ‘’smoking billboard’’.

The billboard has been pulled off though the campaign still continues. It was developed by BVK.
