Graphic representation of foul smell, scary, bloody anti-domestic violence campaign, and now this detergent creatures..Sure, there is something eerie about all these ads from China. This campaign for Ariel laundry detergent, developed by Saatchi & Saatchi Guangzhou, China, presents stains as frightening creatures.

Why all these ads from this country goes a bit extreme, why is there always a horror factor, an eerie element? Are the agencies thinking that this kind of treatment will help to grab the attention of the target audience? I don’t know. But, one thing is sure. Or, seems sure to me. There is something special about these Chinese ads, and that speciality is not so pleasant.
These Ariel ads carry a headline (translation)- Be prepared with Ariel. Prepared for a grub-bath! There will be stains!
