These are government sponsored guerilla advertising campaign undertaken in London to garner public support on government policies in the U.K. The boards asking people to press the button if they support the policies of the government have been placed at several public places in London. Moreover, this is a very nice idea for a survey that involves mass participation.
The idea of the advertisement is superb and quite fresh.

To call this idea superb is to admit to a jaw dropping political naivety, and to call it quite fresh is to close one’s eyes to the very good reasons why such a callous campaign has never been launched before, or has been very quickly stifled at the concept stage.
This is a stunningly outrageous campaign idea that will misfire so badly that its creator will spend a short career denying having anything to do with it.
It has the most sinister Orwellian overtones and will encourage vandalism to every crossing it is displayed on as people vent their feelings for this repressive, anti-libertarian and intrusive government.
The bloggers are going to be out in force on this one. What fantastic fuel! What a gift to the government’s opposition!
About 10 seconds after I posted my reaction here, I thought: ”Hang on, this has to be a hoax” It’s just too crass, even for this government.
It’s symptomatic of the state of affairs in this country that the campaign seems so plausible, so close to reality.
Who was behind it? If not NO2ID, then who?
