Yahoo! has launched an advertising network for mobile devices. The newly launched service, called Mobile Ad Network, will allow companies that involved in games, entertainment or information on mobile phones to bring in revenue from advertisements. Yahoo is also offering its Mobile Content Engine to simplify the delivery of listings and articles through OneSearch.

The internet giant is has announced the launch of a set of services recently in order to push hard into mobile advertisement. The launch of Yahoo Mobile Publisher Services, which will offer publishers access to the Yahoo Mobile Ad Network and three new services: Yahoo Mobile Content Engine, Mobile Media Directory and Mobile Site Submit.

However, the industry is still skeptical of the new design on the ground that whether users will be happy about receiving more ads, especially on their phones. The new system will also be pushing out content for subscribers. Yahoo hopes that it’s new mobile service to bring content such as games, music, TV programs, listings and other convenience services to users. The company has refrained from revealing that whether these contents will be available for free.

Yahoo, Google and others at present make billions of dollars selling advertising on Web sites, including their search engine results. In recent times there is a significant surge in numbers of people using mobile phones to access the Internet and these companies want to loose no time to try to sell ads around mobile media.

However, launch partners in the Mobile Ad Network include MobiTV, Opera, and go2. The first advertisement will go live in the second quarter, with more partners to be added in coming months.
