What's a gun doing in an ad for shoes? Eventually banned by ASA

The advertisement watchdog ASA banned this ad on the ground that the ad was glamorizing guns. This was an ad for an award winning men's shoe shop. The action was taken following a complaint. The ad was appeared in Ology magazine for Jeffery West footwear.

The controversial ad had shown a photograph of a woman wearing a leopard skin fur-coat having a gun and a pair of men's shoes on the next seat. The use of gun in the ad has been regarded as offensive by people and the ASA. The ASA further came heavy on the ad saying this has irresponsibly glamorized the gun.

It was also argued that the gun was not related to the product and the it more appeared like as glamorous fashion accessory.
